If you wear contact lenses, you are most likely painfully aware of the care, cleaning, and storage processes you must go through on a daily basis. Any breach of this procedure can damage your lenses and quite possibly your eyes. Improper cleaning can lead to eye irritations and infections. In May of 2006, Bauch and Lomb recalled the Renu MoistureLoc Lens Solution. This was amid several reports of irritation associated with the solution.

The Renu MoistureLoc Lens Solution was designed as a multi-purpose solution for rinsing, cleansing and storage of contact lenses. Problems arose around the world with an increase in Ocular Fusarium infections. These were most widely noted in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States. The root cause for these infections has not yet been fond but the data compiled showed that a disproportionately high number of users of Renu-moisture loc lens solution contracted this infection.

The investigations into the Renu MoistureLoc Lens Solution repealed that there was nothing wrong with the products sterility or production related factors. However, a possible proposed theory is that although the product was not found to contain fungus itself, its multi purpose use could weaken the product so that it doesn't do enough to prevent protection from fungus.

You may be wondering, what should I do if I have used, Renu MoistureLoc Lens Solution? Bauch and Lomb have recalled the product. They are warning against anyone using it until a root cause for the eye disorders can be found. You should discard any of the unused products that you may still have and exchange the empty bottle for an alternative eye care solution.

If you or someone you know has suffered severe eye problems due to Renu MoistureLoc Lens Solution, you may be able to take legal action to recover financial restitution based on your condition.
