No one likes going to the dentist at the best of times. It is one of life's necessary evils. A dental appointment rates is among the most dreaded experiences for Americans. For most of us the grueling experience is usually fine. No major physical or psychological damage is done. However, for a few they remain in agony. A term that is becoming more and more widely used is dental malpractice. Your dentist, just as your doctor is bound both legally and morally to provide an acceptable standard of care. Unfortunately for all of us, bad dental work causing pain and suffering is becoming more and more common. If you dentist fails to provide an acceptable duty of care then they can be held liable for dental malpractice.
You may be wondering what exactly dental malpractice is. Well, for you to be able to make a case for dental malpractice, your dentist must have either intentionally or unintentionally committed and act that no other reasonable person of the profession would have done. The act also needs to have caused substantial injury, pain or suffering.
A dentist must have your consent before performing a procedure or any part of a procedure. If he or she fails to do so then they are liable for a dental malpractice suit. This does not mean satisfaction on the part of the patient. You must keep in mind that just because the procedure doesn't bring about the results that you want then this is not sufficient grounds for a dental malpractice suit.
You may be wondering what you can do if you feel that you have a valid dental malpractice claim. You may be entitled to monetary damages. You can claim for pain and suffering, cost of the treatment, or subsequent treatments to correct the problem. You may even be able to claim for loss of wages due to missed work.
If you feel that you have a valid dental malpractice claim then you should get in touch with professional and dedicated dental malpractice attorneys who can give you advice regarding your case. Why should you suffer because of some unscrupulous, unqualified dentist? Why endure pain, suffering and loss of wages because of poor treatment. You as a patient have a right to expect a good standard of care. If that hasn't been given to you then you may be entitled to damages. Contact us today.

| I had a dental procedure done last summer and the doctor that performed the surgery was very rough with me. I had an IV sedation he was very rough in putting in the IV and it caused Flabitus in my arm. Underneath my gum it feels like the bone was cut uneven, I am afraid to go back to that same dentist to have it checked. | |

| can I sue the Dentist that damaged all 4 teeth with shoddy workmanship and ill-fitted unnecessary crown for fraud. since he worked on my mouth the dentist has made a name change and is still employed with the same dental corporation. I sued in court for: malpractice shoddy workmanship defamation slander discrimination and pain and suffering.I was awarded $800 which reimbursed my out of pocket cost, however, I was not made whole. the company also sent me to collections. can I sue the dental corporation for sending me to collections and for fraud because the dentist is still working for the dental corporation but, under a new name? I don\'t feel his is qualified to be performing as a dentist at all. | |

| I recieved dental care for a tooth that had its filling fall out, once the filling fell out the tooth was in half. I went into the dentist who then shot Nova Cane into my tooth, then proceded to pull half the tooth out. 3 days later I started to experience a weird not normal feeling, example, I am losing tast, feeling in my tongue, lips, and eye lid issues along with jaw movement problems. I dont know what to do, i have a strong feeling its is the cause of what the dentist has done when he shot the nova cane into me i felt a massive amount of pain and my legs jumped up. At first i didnt think much of it, just thinking the Doc knew what he was doing. Well here i sit now with some really strange things going on and its making me worried. | |

| I live in arizona and i had a really bad pain in my tooth that would keep me up at night so i had gone to a dentist that i have gone to since i was 12 years old i am now 21. a tooth he had filled approximitly 3 years prior had lost its filling and had broke in half. so i had gone to him and requested a removal of the tooth. because it was one of my molars and he didnt want to jeprodise my eating capability he said i am not going to remove the tooth what i will do is give u a root canal. at the time i had no insurance so he did a partial root canal at no charge meaning cleaned it out and put a temp in it. approximitly 1.5 weeks later my face had gotten so swollen that my eye closed completely. i had called his 24hr call line and his secretary called him and immediatly tod me to go to the hospital and get on antibiotics through an iv. comes to be i have an absess and was borderline the infection going into my blood stream possibly to my brain. the next day i went to him to have a further cosultaion he drained the tooth and began to apologise i asked what he could do for me cause i would have approx 5000-10000 in doctor bills and this had alredy cost me 2 weeks at work. what can i do in this situation i cant afford that in doctor bills. also the day that i went back he charged me 500 to fix a job that he messed up . also when i left the first time he had told me that i will notice some swelling in the cheek as well as some pain being the root canal was so deep. do i have a case in this matter i have lost almost 10k-15k in missing work and life has been horrible cause i still cant sleep because of the pain but i am afraid to go back cause of the expieriences i have had. last i have lost almost all feeling on the side of my tounge | |

| I had wisdom teeth surgery on March 18 developed a dry socket on March 23 they packed the holes with medicated gauze to get rid of the pain on the following Tuesday March 25 I went to the doctors office they told me they were removing the packing so the holes could heal. On Tuesday April 1 they did a two week check up I was complaining at this check up that i thought there was infection because i was so sick to my stomach and other people could smell my breath by just being around me. The dr looked in the hole and squeezed both sides and informed my tha there was no infection that these things just take time to heal. No other appointments were scheduled I was just told it would take weeks for it to heal. On Friday April 4 I decided to look at the hole myself because the taste and smell was so bad it was becoming noticable by others around me. I came home from work boiled my tweezers and found that for almost 2 weeks the packing was left in the hole to cause this infection. Do you think I have a case? | |

| I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN SUE MY ORTHODONTIST FOR PAIN, SUFFERING AND MALPRACTICE. MY TREATMENT PLAN WAS TO BE 2 YEARS AND BECAUSE OF MANY MISTAKES MY ORTHODONTIST HAS MADE I NOW HAVE HAD THE BRACES ON MY TEETH FOR 7 YEARS. MY TEETH AFTER SEVEN YEARS HAVE NO OCCLUSION MY FRONT TOOTH CRACKED DURING ORTHO TREATMENT NOW I NEED AN IMPLANT. THE ORTHODONTIST SAYS THAT THE BRACES WILL BE ON ANOTHER 1 1/2 BECAUSE HE ACCIDENTLY SHIFTED THE TEETH TO THE RIGHT AND HE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE MIDLINE THEY ARE OFF 3 MILL. HE SUGGESTED THAT I GET CROWN ON THE TWO UPPER MOLARS TO MAKE SPACE TO MOVE THE TEETH OVER. I DON\'T NEED CROWN MY TEETH ARE FINE BUT HE DOESN\'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM MY DENIST KNOWS HE HAS MADE MISTAKES AND HAS TOLD HIM SO. MY DENTIST SAYS MY TEETH ARE BREAKING DOWN BECAUSE BRACES HAVE BEEN ON SO LONG, IT\'S NOT GOOD FOR MY ROOTS. I HAD BRACES ON FOR 4 YEARS IN HIGH SCHOOL MY TEETH JUST NEEDED A LITTLE ADJUSTMENT WHICH MY DENTIST RECOMMENDED BECAUSE I WILL BE SPENDING ABOUT $28,000 IN COSMETIC WORK. I HAD DICOR CROWN ON THE TWO FRONT TEETH WHICH I PAID $5000 FOR AND WHEN THEY PUT ON THE BRACKETS THEY GROUND OFF THE COLORING ON MY TEETH NOW I NEED TO NEW CROWNS. I TOLD HIM THAT THE COLORING WAS PAINTED ON AND HE SAID I WILL BE OK BUT MY DENTIST SAID THEY ARE RUINED. I BEEN TO 5 DIFFERENT ORTHODONTIST TO GET EVALUATIONS AND ALL OF THEM SAID THAT THEY DIDN\'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THEY WOULDN\'T EXCEPT ME AS A PATIENT. THERE IS STILL MORE THINGS TO LIST | |
